American billionaire Jeff Bezos has offered two billion dollars to nasa in exchange for a moon mission contract.
His company blue origin is seeking to make an air spacecraft designed to land astronauts back on the moon. In a letter bezos said blue origin will waive a payment in the current fiscal year and the ones after that up to 2 billion dollars.
He said the company will also pay for an orbital mission to vet the united states space agency’s technology. Bezos noted nasa’s short-term and long-term lunar ambitions will be delayed without competition. Meanwhile spacex just scored another major contract to launch nasa’s jupiter moon mission.
