Pakistan has rejected India’s unwarranted remarks on an incident of evangelism involving a statue of Sikh ruler Ranjit Singh in Lahore.
In a statement the foreign office said the remarks were highly hypocritical given India’s state-sponsored discrimination against its own minorities. It said the government and the civil society media in pakistan have always worked for ensuring minorities rights.
It added that places of worship of minorities in India were targeted with state complicit. The foreign office called upon New Delhi to ensure safety of minorities including muslims.
