U.N : Weather disasters killed two million people in last 50 years

The United Nations says more than 2 million people have died in the last 50 years due to climate-related disasters in its report.

The World Metrological Organization said that over 3.6 trillion dollars in losses have been incurred due to floods and heat waves. The reports showed an accelerating trend with the number of disasters increasing nearly fivefold from the 1970s to the most recent decade.

The report noted that more than 91 percent of the debts occurred in the developing countries.
