The U.S says that it has not validated the Taliban government in Afghanistan, but will continue to engage with them for evacuations.
White House spokesperson Jen Psaki made these remarks in a press briefing. She said no one in Washington believes the Taliban are respected and valued members of the global community. U.S officials say the Taliban have agreed to let 200 American civilians and third country nationals to leave Afghanistan.
They said Washington’s special envoy Zalmay Khalilzad pressed the group to allow the departures. Meanwhile one stands acting premier Muhammad Hassan has called on former officials to return to the country.
In an interview Conrad to the Taliban promise of mnsg for anyone who worked for the U.S and its allies. He also stressed the group wants to establish positive and strong relations with countries in the region and beyond.
